The OCC serves as the main location from which all aspects of the system are controlled and operational decisions are made regarding normal and non-normal operations. The facility also serves as the point of coordination for all operational decisions affecting rail service. This coordination usually includes both internal staff as well as external elements and the emergency response agencies.

SEPSA has developed the software tools and onboard equipment for monitoring, controlling and commanding the whole system including the management of the train fleets.
